FDA grants full approval to Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine
The Food and Drug Administration has granted full approval to Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine for people who are 16 and older.
The move opens the door to further employer-based vaccine mandates for workers at hospitals, colleges, corporations, and other employers, the New York Times notes.
That may lead some unvaccinated people to get their shots, the Washington Post reports
U.S. Airlines has already said it will require proof of vaccinations from its employees within 5 weeks of a vaccine’s full approval by the FDA, says the New York Times.
The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is the first one to be fully approved by the FDA.
