Actuary tool maps out COVID-19 health care costs

A model put together by the Society of Actuaries allows users to estimate future health care costs.

“The COVID-19 outbreak impacting the U.S. creates many new scenarios that affect costs now and in the future,” the Society of Actuaries says.

The SOA says its model allows users to delve into a variety of scenarios and examine how they affect health costs.

It will be updated periodically as further data on the pandemic’s impact becomes available.

The SOA has links on its website to a user guide and a training video on accessing the model.
